Finding a mine unexplored since World War II
On a previous trip we found several old mines in Ørsdalen, some of which can be seen on a guided tour. But according to an article there were supposed to be even more mines in the area, one in particular that was supposed to be located on a steep mountain hillside and out of reach.
Hiking for 8 hours, ascending more than 700 meters of elevation and using our drone to search the mountain we finally found the long-abandoned mine. Closed after World War II, this mine has been spared human visitors due to its inaccessible location and cannot be viewed from the valley below due to the steep angle.

Visiting Bodø - The World's Strongest Tidal Current, a Double Beach and Our Worst Travel Mistake!

Earlier this year we had the opportunity to travel to Bodø in Norway, getting on an airplane for the first time in a year and a half. However, some poor planning led to us missing a flight for the first time ever, after making 262 flights without ever missing a single one before (although we have been close on some short connections!). The Pulpit Rock Lookalike - Hiking to Hengjanenibbå in Norway

The Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) is one of the most visited natural attractions in Norway, for a very good reason. It features stunning views and a very special plateau. Like the Pulpit Rock it features a plateau stic...

This is simplicity, your country is beautiful and id one day love to go there to see it snd the people ! What would top it off would be to see Angelina Jordan singing live ! @jorntv2544 6 месяцев назад

      She's a giant! Nah, just kidding. She's only about 15 cm taller than the average women were 130 years ago, so it's mainly that old houses in Norway were very low (probably to save on building materials).

      @@jorntv2544 Also, you don't need a step stool to reach the top shelf or clean the cobwebs. 😁 Or heat the extra space. Extra space seems pointless when you have to chop, split, and carry every stick of wood. I've been there. My grandfather built his own house in 1920 and they heated with a single center wood stove and limited it to 900 sq ft between top and bottom level so the heat would serve for both floors and they could close off the upstairs bedrooms during the day but heat them up quickly before bedtime. He was a very practical man. It may also be worth noting that 15 cm is not unsubstantial regarding doorways and the need to duck or not duck every time you enter/exit.

      We tried looking into this, but there's surprisingly little information about how they're made. But we'll make a video if we find out, as well as showing how they work. It's actually quite simple: The main wheels ride on the rail with a larger outer diameter than the center so that it doesn't derail. And the other side is simply there for balance, it doesn't grip onto the sides of the rail.

      The ladder starts several hundred meters from the bottom of the valley and at an angle that makes it very hard to see (you can barely spot it from the main road between the parking lot and the big wheel). We're using a Nikon Z 6 and D750, paired with a 24-70 mm f4 here, and for dark places like mines we use the Samyang 24 mm f1.4 and Sigma 14 mm f1.8 .

    Hello - i like ur video I m planning to visit Malta for 6 nights (20-26 DEC) with my wife and 2 daughters(9and 8). And I have a couple on questions … 1-i have not got concrete plans yet..but tentatively , I m thinking of having a 2 night stay in GOZO and 4 nights somewhere near Valletta.. what do u think of this plan? 2-i have read a lot about the great bus service in Malta and I also heard that it is always late but I m unsure if that applies to the winter time? So honestly I m leaning towards renting a car especially Because I M going to spend some time in gozo?shall I do this or the bus is just fine? 3-what can I do on the Christmas day(25 DEC)?will everything be on shutdown? 4-i m flying back on 26DEC-(8am), if I don’t have a rental car , will I be able to reach the airport with uber/bus? 5- for cab-hailing apps,is uber the best one? 6-is there an available farm-stay property that we can stay in at malta where the kids can see/feed some animals like cows,horses , dog, cats or sheeps? Many Thanks,,

    • @jorntv2544
      @jorntv2544 Год назад

      Hello! I'll try to answer the questions where I have experience with this: 1. I think that sounds like a good plan. There's quite a lot to see in Gozo too, we spent two nights there as well and definitively didn't get bored. And there's even more to see in Malta, so spending more time there sounds like good plan. 2. We travelled in winter time as well and didn't have issues taking the bus, but we only took it to Valetta. It might be that it's less reliable outside the cities. There are so many smaller places and rural roads that I'd definitively get a rental car. It also makes time management so much easier. For the other questions I don't really have any experience. I'd be surprised if there are no bus services to the airport, but as we had a rental car we didn't really check that option. Enjoy your trip, Malta is a beautiful place! 🙂

    The Muskox (Ovibos moschatus) is a bear-sized bovid native to northern Eurasia and North America, it is the only living representative of the genus Ovibos and one of only two surviving members of the tribe Ovibovini, the other being the Takin (Budorcas taxicolor), which lives in the Himalayas, Ovibovini is one of three extant tribes that are now classified within a new subfamily known as Ovibovinae, the others being Hemitragini (Tahrs) and Naemorhedini (Gorals, Serows, Chamoises, and Mountain Goat), Ovibovinae is a subfamily of bovids that is mostly native to Eurasia and lives mostly in cold-climate habitats, the Muskox (Ovibos moschatus) and Mountain Goat (Oreamnos americanus) are the only extant members of Ovibovinae that are also found in North America, although, unlike the muskox, the mountain goat is exclusively native to North America, while the muskox lives in both North America and Eurasia, Ovibovinae is divided into three tribes, Hemitragini (Tahrs (contains 3 genera: Arabitragus, Nilgiritragus, and Hemitragus)), Naemorhedini (Gorals, Serows, Chamoises, and Mountain Goat (contains 4 genera: Oreamnos, Rupicapra, Capricornis, and Naemorhedus)), and Ovibovini (Muskox and Takin (contains 2 genera: Budorcas and Ovibos)), it is also hinted that the subfamily Ovibovinae (Muskox, Takin, Gorals, Serows, Chamoises, Mountain Goat, and Tahrs) is fairly similar and most closely related to the subfamilies Hippotraginae (Grazing Antelope) and Alcelaphinae (Hartebeests, Wildebeests, Tsessebes, and Hirola).
